I’m going to talk a lot about the blurring of HR and Marketing on this Blog. A lot a lot. Because organizations need to understand that at their core, HR and Marketing functions are the same – they serve to engage people in the company’s mission.
While the two have traditionally operated in silos, a new model is emerging that cuts across audiences and creates communities around the company’s mission. The leaders in this emerging model will bring innovation, employee morale, talent acquisition, brand management, sales and marketing under one umbrella. And they will change an organization’s focus from product or service to the people, both employees and customers, who drive the mission.
Social media has greatly facilitated how companies large and small can create and maintain communities and ensure brand awareness and loyalty. Organizations on board with combining the powers of HR and Marketing will surpass their competition and set the new industry standard.
